For kids who have sex nowadays the average age is 14
It is obvious that the world changes by day. So is the new generation who seems to radically change the old mentality and to revolutionize the world as we know it. Recently, an 11 year old girl from Scotland became the youngest mother in Britain. How is this possible?
Well, it is a proven fact that sexuality appears in the early ages of life.
Sexuality appears earlier than we even imagine. Studies show that babies touch themselves when they are in mother’s womb, Of course without realizing what they do. After they are born, babies still touch themselves on the genitals, not in sexual ways but from curiosity. It is only the pre-puberty period when children become conscious about their sexuality.
Long ago people started their sexual lives between 17 and 20 years old. Nowadays the age of 14 is the average age for kids who have sex. Of course, this depends a lot on cultures, education, social status, entourage and many other factors. The age of consent sex in UK is 16 years but in other countries the age when you can legally have sex can even be set at 11 years. Beginning the sexual life too early is very risky for kids who have sex. They are not aware of the real implications of this act such as using protection and preventing STD, nor they are emotionally prepared to take this step. Besides this, from a medical point of view, an early sexual life can cause many emotional and physical traumas and even cancer if atypical cells develop.
There is no doubt that sexual behavior is highly debated around the world. Particular cases, like that of the pregnant 11-years-old Scottish girl, bring into discussion even more curiosities about this topic. Where will this lead? Should we expect a sexual revolution in the next years? And should we expect children to begin their sexual lives by the age of 6 in the future? The answers to these questions are uncertain. However, children of the 21st century seem to be establishing new sexual norms which completely exceed our imagination.
